Bisley, like many businesses, has been affected due to COVID-19 and the Government’s announcement for all non-essential businesses to close or to work from home over the last nine weeks.

As a manufacturer, the majority of Bisley staff cannot work from home and it therefore took the immediate decision in March to close the factory, ensuring all colleagues felt safe and protected.

Bisley has been in constant communication with all staff throughout lockdown and, after seeking advice, it invited, not insisted that those who felt able to, returned to work. The feedback from colleagues was very positive, and Bisley is now delighted to confirm that over the last few weeks it has been phasing its staff back to work in both its wood and steel factories.

Bisley has created a safe system of work at its factory headquarters and other locations, including revised working practices and clear markings to ensure the necessary and appropriate social distancing guidelines are in place. PPE and cleaning materials are in good supply throughout the premises and Bisley therefore feels confident that production and other factory-based activities have resumed successfully and safely.

Production is strong and working well, and Customer Service functions are supporting its customers, while working from home. Bisley looks forward to continuing to support its customers, as it starts to steadily move out of what has been a challenging period for us all.

Although at present the London Showroom remains closed, as and when appropriate, it will re-open but on an appointment only basis, whilst having clear social distancing processes in place.

Customers who need any information or assistance with any Bisley product offerings, can contact Bisley via their regular Bisley representative, or via Bisley’s website.

About Bisley

Bisley designs and provides high-quality, reliable furniture for every working environment.

We like to think of ourselves as a British success story. From the humble beginnings of car body repairs in 1931, we began meeting the needs of workplaces in the 1940s. We’re now producing over 15,000 items per week from our factory in Wales, our products can be bought in over 50 countries and organisations such as Direct Line, the BBC and PwC, who trust us to meet their office storage and furniture needs.

Our success is based on enduring relationships, the latest manufacturing technology and the best people. Our 700 employees are always pushing the boundaries of manufacturing excellence and, as a private company we’re able to devote all our profits to our business. Since 1989 we’ve invested more than £80million – helping us to become Europe’s leading manufacturer of steel storage. In fact, a third of all UK steel storage originates from Bisley.

From the iconic MultiDrawer to Be by Bisley (modular, interchangeable storage and desking for flexible office working) to Stage (an adaptable and contemporary home-working space) our extensive range of furniture is helping people across the world be comfortable and effective, wherever they are working.
