Last week thousands of companies registered in the UK published data regards the way they pay their staff. The purpose, of course, was to reveal how companies in every sector pay the men & women they employ and try to analyse if differences in wages are fair.

On the surface the figures published by the Gender Pay Gap Service, a Government body, show quite a considerable difference in the way men & women are paid in most sectors. As we all know statistics don’t always tell the whole story, so we’ll be keeping our eyes and ears peeled to find out what some of the participants with seemingly large pay differences between genders have to say.

Gill Parker, CEO at BDG architecture + design, commented in an article for Building magazine online that the figures highlight issues beyond pay and reminds us that they fail to highlight the positive progress made in some sectors to redress balance.
