DESIGN AND DELIVERY WITHOUT BORDERS: SHEPHERD& ESTABLISHES CREATIVE PARTNERSHIP WITH BUSH & ASSOCIATES
Shepherd&, the visionary design atelier, has further cemented its presence within the Parisian design industry through the appointment of founding partner Timothy Shepherd as Managing Director of Bush & Associates. This new alignment brings together Shepherd&’s progressive approach with Bush & Associates’ 50 years of trusted delivery in France, creating a powerhouse uniquely positioned to handle projects of the highest scale and complexity.
The strengthened leadership team; Timothy Shepherd as Managing Director, supported by Ribal Radwan and Raoul Cenan, have already been awarded a series of creative redesign and delivery projects across Paris for OMNICOM, the global leaders in marketing communications.
“Paris has always been a big part of my life and career, so the opportunity to join this established and respected studio with Shepherd& in partnership is bringing together talent and likeminded people with shared aspiration for the design studio we have created.” – Timothy Shepherd
With studios now in two of the most vibrant creative capitals, Soho’s London and Paris’s 16th arrondissements, Shepherd& positions itself at the heart of inspiration, opportunity, and global influence. Known for defying traditional sector boundaries, the studio works across workplace, hospitality, and residential sectors, operating like an atelier as opposed to a conventional practice.
Derek, moved to Paris in 1973, initially working for Terrance Conran, later founding Bush & Associates, brings deep local expertise, delivering projects across France for some of the world’s most recognisable individuals and brands. Their portfolio spans high-end residential, flagship retail, workplace innovation, and hospitality, consistently setting new benchmarks in design and delivery. With bases in both London and Paris, Bush & Associates connect with clients on a cultural level and respond attentively and effectively to their requirements.
Key milestones in Bush & Associates’ portfolio include Habitat’s first French stores, Sephora’s first 40 shops, flagship stores for Footlocker, Levi’s, Primark, Stüssy, Fred Perry, and Vuarnet (now LVMH). Landmark headquarters and workplace projects for Apple, Amazon, Reuters, Cisco, Lexmark, HP, Revlon, and major projects for GE and Nortel. The original Hemingway Bar at the Ritz (1982), Vista Palace Hotel in Roquebrune, even Paris’s first McDonald’s, and private jet terminals at Le Bourget.
From this foundation, the collaboration is already producing standout projects, including a workplace transformed into a future-facing creative hub. The design strips away excess to spotlight expressive, high-performance elements. Due for completion early next year, the several projects for OMNICOM around Paris will embody their ethos while supporting its evolving culture and projecting its creative leadership. In tandem, the team is working to create a prestigious HQ, transforming their staff experience within their workplace as they do for the clients.
“Our unmatched track record in project delivery, combined with Timothy’s international expertise and the creative talent of our teams, set the stage for the next chapter in our growth. Together, we represent a diverse, multicultural group with proven capabilities to deliver at the highest level.” – Derek Bush, Founder of Bush & Associates.
This partnership is built on shared values, a direct and human-centred design philosophy, and a longstanding creative rapport between Timothy and Derek. Their friendship and history of collaboration across diverse projects have laid the foundation for this strong collaboration. It marks a significant milestone in Shepherd&’s evolution, embedding the studio deeply into Europe’s design industry and expanding its influence across the continent.
The ampersand in Shepherd& stands for more than its founders, it represents the partnerships that fuel the studio’s work. Collaborations like this one with Bush & Associates are rooted in mutual respect, shared vision, and a belief in design as a global language. With Derek Bush’s long-standing experience and network combined with Shepherd&’s progressive approach, the Paris studio is poised to unlock new opportunities, challenges, and shape the future of design.
