Clerkenwell Design Week (CDW) 20-22 May 2025 will see a range of innovation and design on display. The week is set to host over 600 curated events across a network of 160 local design showrooms and 300 exhibitors. The designers, manufacturers and architects working with Informare will be pulling out all the stops with a wide range of unmissable events.

Umbrella & Wagstaff

This year Umbrella and Wagstaff will bring the theme of workplace wellness to Clerkenwell Design Week. With an agenda jampacked with wellness focused activities. The showroom is also celebrating another year partnering with eight thoughtfully selected brands that are leading the way in furniture design, these include; Piaval, Sancal, Treku, Wendelbo, Midj, New Works, Extremis, along with an architectural partner T6.

‘Importance of Colour and Biophilia in the Workplace’ – Wednesday 21st May, 18:00.

Design Insider’s Alys Byran will chair and be joined by panellists Emma Bestley, Co-founder and creative partner at YesColour, Dirk Wynants, Founder and owner at Extremis, Sam McCarthy, Head of Major projects at Plantplan and Design Director at New Works.

Brewhouse Yard Hub dedicated trail – Wednesday 21st May, 09:00 – 19:00.

The trail will begin at Umbrella + Friends for a Wellness Breakfast before making its way around to visit the likes of Davison Highley, Interstuhl, Forma 5, Sedua, Camira and William Hands.

Daily Breakfast – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 09:00 – 10:30.

Join Umbrella in their showroom to start your day right each morning with a complementary wellness breakfast designed to energise and prep you for the busy day ahead.

Massages – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 10:00 – 16:00.

Massage Angels will help visitors relax, reset and recharge with massage sessions throughout the day.

Puppy Therapy – Daily sessions, 10:00, 11:30, 14:00, 15:30.

Escape the hustle of CDW with Umbrella’s daily puppy therapy sessions. Swing by the showroom to cuddle, play and de-stress with a litter of puppies.

Humanscale

This year Humanscale will return to Clerkenwell Design Week with a celebration of its core philosophy; ergonomics everywhere. Visitors will be able to learn about the importance of ergonomics and movement through inspiring talks, product showcases and immersive design experiences in Humanscale’s Clerkenwell showroom.

Throughout CDW, Humanscale will showcase its latest ergonomic innovations designed to support evolving meeting and collaboration needs. Highlights will include The Meeting Collection, designed for adaptability and comfort without the need for manual controls, World Upholstered, Float adjustable collaborative tables and a sneak peek at the eFloat Quattro which will launch in June 2025.

‘The Art of the Meeting’ – Tuesday May 20th, 16:00.

Independent workplace consultant and public speaker Oliver Baxter will lead a session exploring the ripple effect that hybrid working has had on reshaping our professional landscapes. The session will seek to answer the critical question: What if better meetings depended not only on the agenda, but on the physical environment itself.

New Horizons for Workplace Design: Commercial Interiors UK Sector Report Launch – Wednesday May 21st, 15:00.

Following on from the release of the 2025 Commercial Interiors UK Sector Report a live panel discussion with panellists Helen Parton, award-winning design journalist and author of the report and Andre Loosemore, Humanscale’s Director of Architecture & Design International will take place. The panel will be chaired by Editor of Design Insider, Alys Bryan and will reflect on the implications for future workplace design.

NowyStyl Kusch

World-renowned workplace furniture manufacturer Kusch+Co and European leader in comprehensive workplace solutions Nowy Styl will host their annual party on the evening of the 21st.

New products that can be seen this year include the ergonomic task chair Prox designed by Martin Ballendat, the sophisticated office chair Flesco by Oscar Buffon, the innovative series of acoustic office pods labelled Spix, and a brand-new modular shelving system – all of which will be in and amongst existing products.

KI

This year is particularly exciting for KI as they move into their brand-new showroom on Goswell Road, right in the heart of Clerkenwell. This year marks the 30th anniversary of KI and they invite visitors to celebrate with new product launches, a series of inspiring talks and the Design Guild Mark Ceremony.

KI will also be celebrating the launch of the Sebel chair, made from 100% recycled post-consumer waste, it is a game changer in sustainability. Other products on display will include the Sutton chair, the Hatton one piece stool, and a new partnership with Polish furniture company Bejot for their Leaf Pod collection which will be revealed during the show. Bejot will also have their range of Gummy Bear armchairs on display in KI’s showroom.

Design Guild MarkTuesday 20th May, 09:00.

The Design Guild Mark is a mark of excellence in British industrial design and will be celebrated with a breakfast reception on the Tuesday of CDW. The reception will welcome recipients, judges and an invited audience to the KI showroom.

Women in Office Design presents ‘Sustainable Plastics: A Myth or Reality’ – Wednesday 21st May, 16:30.

The panel discussion will be hosted by interior designer and founder of Women in Office design, Harsha Kotak, who will be joined by an expert panel consisting of Asif Din, Sustainability Director, Perkins & Will, Luke Pearson, Director Pearson Lloyd, Lydia Randall, ESG Director, bdg architecture + design and Joanna Knight, Co-founder, Sustainable Design Collective (SDC).

Be Your Own Trend Forecaster – Hosted by Phil Pond, Client Business Strategist from Scarlet Opus – Thursday 22nd May, 11:00.

Global trend experts Scarlet Opus will reveal the methodology they use to identify future macro trends for consumers and end user behaviour and design trends relative to all interiors.

Design Trends for Interiors 2026 hosted by Victoria Redshaw founder of Scarlet Opus – Thursday 22nd May, 14:30.

The second panel hosted by Scarlet Opus will give an insight into two key design trends that listeners need to be on the lookout for in 2026.

Creating Spaces to Enliven Cities through a Design Lens – Tuesday 20th May 16:00

Chaired by Emma, Editor of Spaces magazine with panellists John Nugent from King Cross and Green and Fortune, Janes Dixon of Darling Associates and Lee Roberts of Zebra. This panel will discuss the importance of creating a hospitality and retail mix that creates a destination to entice people back to the City of London.

Mute, manufacturers of adaptable office architecture will kick off this year’s Clerkenwell Design Week with a redesigned showroom expanding upon their current Modular Pod System. For the duration of CDW they will host two discussions and various demonstrations of their Modular system.

On the Outside Looking Out: Neurodiversity in the workplace – Tuesday 20th May 11:00.

Piers Roberts works at the intersection of creativity, entrepreneurship and neurodiversity. Diagnosed Autistic and ADHD aged 50, Piers champions people who think, feel and see differently. The talk will cover topics of how to design for inclusivity.

Designing Tomorrow’s Offices: Flexibility, Sustainability and Collaboration – Wednesday 21st May 11:00.

The panel discussion will be chaired by Mich Jordan, Editor of Works Magazine with panellists May Fawzy, Interior Architecture Director of MF Design Studio, Dr Robert Schmidt III, Reader in Architectural Design, Colin Macgadie, Founding Director of ForEveryday.Life and Pernille Bonser, CEO and Founder of Resonate Interiors.

Polish Cultural Institute/On & On Designs

The Polish Cultural Institute focuses on promoting Polish culture and heritage to the British audience, as well as developing collaborations and building bridges between key cultural or academic institutions in Poland and the UK.

On & On Designs advises on skilfully crafted products by European designers and represents selected designers and brands in the UK market.
