Humanscale Unveiled its Path to a Sustainable Future at Orgatec 2022
New products including Path, the world’s most sustainable task chair, were exclusively revealed to International markets last week at Orgatec 2022
(November 2022 – London) Humanscale the leading designer and manufacturer of high-performance ergonomic furniture products, welcomed the return of Orgatec; with an assortment of exciting launches that expanded its seating and sit/stand solutions with a strong focus on sustainability and the promotion of workplace wellbeing.
At the Koelnmesse trade fair halls, Cologne, between 25th-29th October 2022, Humanscale presented Path, the world’s most sustainable task chair. Designed by Todd Bracher and the Humanscale Design Studio, the Path chair is composed of nearly ten kilograms of recycled materials, which includes reclaimed fishing nets, used plastic bottles, and post-industrial material.
Tim Hutchings – President Humanscale International said;
“After fours year away, it was great to be back in front of customers, stakeholders, and industry colleagues. It was also particularly heartening to see the themes of sustainability and well-being so high on the agenda at Orgatec 2022. As an industry-leading manufacturer, Humanscale is built on the principles of human comfort and long-lasting, responsible design. The Path chair is the latest manifestation of our philosophy and values. With Path and beyond, we continue to push the boundaries of transparency in materials, production, process, and use. ”
Path is the third in a series of ‘Ocean’ chairs and the latest product addition to Humanscale’s commitment to making a net positive impact on the Earth. Path is designed to feel warm and natural in any environment. The simple rounded silhouette sits beautifully within both the office and homeworking environment. Exclusively created for the Path chair, the proprietary Revital textile colour palette is inspired by warm, elegant and neutral hues, which brings the beauty of the natural world to the workplace.
Humanscale was the first manufacturer to launch a task chair made with ocean plastic when it introduced the Smart Ocean chair in 2018. Following that success, Humanscale introduced the Liberty Ocean chair, which can also be seen at Orgatec. Both chairs use nearly a kilogram of recycled fishing nets, widely regarded as the most harmful type of plastic in the ocean. In this way, Humanscale directly supports clean oceans by using abandoned, lost, and discarded fishing nets that damage delicate ecosystems and the marine life that inhabit them.
In addition to these revolutionary seating products, Humanscale also introduced a range of Integrated technology solutions, the latest being NeatCharge. In line with Humanscale’s design philosophy of creating functional products that solve problems, NeatCharge turns your selected surface into a wireless charging area, enhancing usable surface space through its innovative design. While conventional wireless chargers are required to be placed on top of the desk or between the furniture, NeatCharge seamlessly mounts underneath the desk or any tabletop. In this way, NeatCharge eliminates desktop clutter, providing a seamless and intuitive way to charge devices.
