Rainlight, the international product design studio based in London and New York, has unveiled its new website fit for its next phase of growth. Under the leadership of Yorgo Lykouria, the Founder and Creative Director of Rainlight, the business has experienced exponential growth and won several accolades over the last 2 years since its launch in 2018.

Lykouria is described as a humanist, establishing a design culture that creates resonant visionary work with purpose.  His broad creative output prior to creating Rainlight includes award winning work in architecture, product design, and film. Starting with 7 years as a design lead at Helmut Jahn’s architecture studio in Chicago, working on large scale international projects including the acclaimed Sony Centre in Berlin, the Post Tower in Bonn, the Cologne/Bonn Airport and the Bayer HQ building in Leverkusen; followed by 12 years creating a broad spectrum of work in his multidisciplinary London studio, Lykouria, that includes architecture, Interiors,  automotive design for Ferrari, furniture for Vitra, Moroso, Classicon and Akaba, bathroom systems for Alape and Dornbracht, and partition systems for Lindner and Clestra.

Rainlight has increased three-fold in size, including the key appointments of Chardonnay Pickard-Fares as Business and Marketing Manager based in New York, as well as Pierce Brennan and James Bennett, both outstanding industrial designers located in the London Studio.

Chardonnay Pickard leads business development and marketing for the studio and is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, trained as an illustrator and textiles designer. She’s honed her marketing and communications skills working with some of the most renowned designers in New York for over 10 years. She specializes in design licensing and strategic partnerships.

Recent collaborations with product manufacturers include collections with Scavolini, Carnegie, Kewaunee and Arcadia, as well as new offerings with existing long-term partners Allsteel and Okamura. Rainlight products have been showcased in the world’s highest profile design fairs and exhibitions, including NYCxDesign/ICFF, NeoCon, Clerkenwell Design Week, 100% Design and Salone del Mobile.

BoxLife for Scavolini by Rainlight

Product launches on the horizon for Rainlight include BoxLife, a micro-living concept that previewed at ICFF last year, and Salone del Mobile. The studio also is continuing its collaboration with the Hunter Douglas Architectural business, which was acquired by CertainTeed in 2018.
