New colourways incoming for Woven Image’s Airport range of textiles
Woven Image has introduced eleven new colours for Airport, its wool-rich upholstery fabric. First released in 2010, Airport has become a popular part of the Woven Image range and, with the addition of directional on-trend hues, it is now available in a total of 23 different colourways.
Originally used for task seating, Airport quickly found favour with architects, designers and specifiers, thanks to the simplicity of its weave structure and its combination of tone-on-tone yarn colours in both warp and weft directions, which make it the perfect choice for contemporary commercial environments. It is ideal for high traffic areas such as break out areas, airport lounges and hospitality environments.
Airport is composed of high-quality New Zealand wool, which not only looks beautiful but is a robust textile with excellent performance characteristics. It has achieved high scores in the Martindale rub test, which measures abrasion resistance, and has also fulfilled the stringent requirements of British Standard 5852 ‘Crib 5’ relating to flammability.
This Autumn sees a comprehensive addition of 11 new colour combinations in line with the Woven Image directional 2019-2020 colour harmonies influenced by global colour trends of contemporary rose, peach and indigo denim hues along with rich merlot and mustard tones. A nod to mid-tone neutrals and paired back subtle eucalyptus and mint colourways complete the palette.
With the addition of these new directional colourways, Airport remains a classic yet contemporary and easy-to-specify commercial textile.
