Conversations at Clerkenwell Design Week: BDG’s Chief Creative Officer Colin Macgadie
As part of Clerkenwell Design Week’s live programme, Conversations at Clerkenwell 2019 promises even more in-depth dialogue with established and new design talent, industry leaders, journalists and institutes, across a 3-day programme of talks.
A conversation that should not be missed is the Tuesday 12:00-13:00 session titled Future Space: The way we’ll work, including BDG Architecture + Design’s Chief Creative Officer Colin Macgadie.
Being held within Moth Pavilion , designed by Studio DA with Atelier One, it focuses on a number of exciting topics currently circulating in the world of design and architecture: ‘Office nomads, co-working, start-up culture, the rise of the freelancer: the culture of work has completely transformed in the last 10 years. Design has played a key role in transforming our workplaces, moving away from standardised, hierarchical office systems and towards spaces that are less formal, more flexible and increasingly open, blurring the boundaries between work and leisure. What does this mean for the architects and designers tasked with creating the workplaces of tomorrow? Inspired by the new designs Established & Sons is launching during Clerkenwell Design Week at their Work Installation, leading designers and figures from this emerging “soft contract” sector to explore how good design can help shape the workspace of the near future, wherever it might be, and how we can start creating places with real character that respond to genuine needs’.
