Tomorrow a flotilla of beautiful old boats will power, by man or motor, up the Thames to honour the Queen’s 90th Birthday. Being a very lucky type of a person I’ll be taking part.

After spending the morning travelling from various launch sites downriver the boats will gather together and, led by her Maj’s own barge the (beautiful) Gloriana, start a procession passing Tower Bridge, the Millenium footbridge and Westminster.

Yours truly will be crewing on the Drapers Company barge the Royal Thamesis. So if you happen to be in town on Saturday do look over to the river and wave if you see us!
